You might be wondering if such a thing exists. I think it would be an amusing idea to have an annual SFP ball, as a fundraiser of course. Charities have them after all, as do many other groups. I envisage something like the Sydney Town Hall or the Paddington Town Hall as the venue.

Sure there might be some problems, I don't know if anyone would offer the public liability insurance for a start. Then, there would be the difficulty of deciding whether it should be black tie. We could try and maintain some stereotypes and instead of having black tie, just make it red neck. This would meet with the approval of the greens.

But the problem issue would be, who would make it on to the list of invited guests of honour? It wouldn't be proper to ignore old Labor party friends. After all there were some very warm bonds created under the Iemma-Rees-Keneally years, and those friendships could come in handy in 2019 when they again hold power in NSW. And who could forget the greens. As collectivists, they would probably all need to be invited, because no one individual is above the party or society, as they say.

The Coalition would have to be given their due, as befits a party which has a mandate to carry out, I think, it was a hundred day plan, or something like that. I guess we all know about plans, like the 5 year plans the communists used to talk about. The greens could no doubt remember them. But as they say, the best laid plans of mice and men.... . Oh well, just an idea.
